Evaluation

In this assignment we had to bring in 4- 5 Items and take pictures of them to turn into popart, we would then put them into photoshop and adjust the lighting a curves to brighten the picture up. After that we created 4 diffrent tiles on a document that were all diffrent colors. After that we adjusted the Hue/ Saturation on the objects to give them a diffrent color and make them look  popart like. (shown below)

·    The images that Inspired me where the ones that people had made using anime and video game characters and putting them into a pop art style.(2 examples shown)
The time period Pop art started to be popular and was part of an international Phenomenon in various cites was in the mid 1950's and onward. It was most commonly used  for posters and art to be exhibted for example the campbell soup by Andy Warhol,or the Marilyn Monroe also by Andy Warhol. Pop art was also used for comic strips in magizines and comics.

i  I did research on some artist like Andy Warhol, and James Rosenquist. Andy Warhol was an American pop artist known for his prints of consumer goods, Photogrphed disasters and celebrite., and James Rosenquist was an American Pop artist who painted feature fragments of face, cars, consumer iteams and other iteams in weird juxtaposition.

The props I used were  a Gameboy SP, Pokeball, Arcade box, and a Space invader toy. I took  around about 4-5 shots of each object and chose which one looked better out of them. After that I  putt them into photoshop and editing them to look like popart. The planning wasn't that bad I didn't have to rely on anyone to bring things in for me, The planning that I had to do was bring my props in book a camera out for the correct day and have the soft box adjusted to be the correct height.

My photography looked like how I planned it out and I was impressed with how it turned out. We used a softbox light for the lighting, A seemless background(white card) for the background and a birdseye view tripod. The location was the classroom next to ours E130. The apperture was f/3.5 and the ISO was 100.

The techniques I used where using diffrent layers to have the diffrent tiles (shown below)
After that I did the levels and curves on the photos taken, after that I adjusted the Hue/Saturation  (Ctrl+U) which made them have the popart style(Shown below)

Did your photography effectively meet the requirements of your proposal and the brief? Are they fit for purpose?
The requirements was to crete 4-5 popart images on Photoshop using Items you have brought in from home. I believe that I did everyhting requred to make it look like popart and I'm impressed with how it all turned out.
What would you do differently next time and what did you learn from this assignment?
I think I would experiment more if had more time to find diffrent settings and maybe change the colors more so they is more variation between each piece.

     Final pieces

Proposal

Using your research, think of 4 every-day objects you could bring to next weeks lesson to photograph in your
pop-up studio. List them below:

1 Gameboy SP
2Arcade box
3 Pokeball
4Space invader

Proposal.

The props I will use will be a Gameboy SP, Pokeball, Arcade box, and a Space invader toy. I will be taking around about 4-5 shots of each object and chossing which one looked better out of them. After that I will be putting them into photoshop and editing them to look like popart.

The equipment I will be using will be a camera to take the pictures with I will need to adjust the ISO: to be 100-200 because we will be using a soft box. We will also be using a soft box which is a light that can be adjusted in height and lighting. We also used a tripod that faces the camera downwards giving a birds eye view over the objects, this can be adjusted in height so it can be closer or further away. And we also used a piece of white card to use as a seamless white background.

Items I used and pop art step by step

These are the four iteams I took pictures of to make my project by turning them into popart

I turned these Iteams in to pop art pieces by having 4 layers on Photoshop and turning the individual layers diffrent colours, I then deleted the over laping sections so the colours would be seen (shown below)

After that I added the cut out pictures of my selected Item's and went on to image-Adjustment-Hue/Saturation (Ctrl+U) and made the have a pop art type style.

I then draged and droped the image on to the background and Minimzed it so it fit in one of the quarters. I then changed the colour and did this 3 more times.

Memory check

Q1 – Detail two reasons why we change the ISO

We change the ISO so the image doesn't blur.

With ISO it will depend on what the lighting will be like. the better the light the lower the ISO, but if the lighting is bad like in a poorly lit classroom the ISO will have to be high

faster shutter speed so increase ISO so you can capture and image quicke if your outside  and you want to take pictures of animals for example.

Q2 – Explain the difference in depth of field between a wide and a narrow apature

A wide appeture is shallow depth of field the smaller the hole the greater the distance

A narrow apperture is used when you want the lens to focus on the foreground on a certain iteam and blur the background.

Q3 – List four consideration your had to take into account when producing your pop-art photography. For example, depth of field, shadows etc).

Wires so we don't trip or break anything.
you don't want shadows
You need it to focus on the iteam and not anything else so you'll need to put it onto manual to adjust it.
low ISO gives quality and detail in an image.

Q4. Describe when would you choose to use the ‘A’ and the ‘P’ modes on a camera

A= Apperture- Controls the depth of field. if you open the apperture it helps quicken the ISO.

P=Program.

Research.

By Andy Warhol
I did pop art in secondry school where we didn't use cameras but we used a polystyrein board and etched a design/ object into it.After doing that I used a roller with paint on to to cover the entirety of the board, straight after that we put the bored on top of paper and left it there for a bit and applied pressure so thepaint would transfer and leave the page covered in paint minus the bits that would of been deeper from the board leaving them blank which left the outline of the object.

Famous artists that did pop art
Andy Warhol: an American pop artist known for his prints of consumer goods, Photogrphed disasters and celebrites.

James Rosenquist: American Pop artist who painted feature fragments of face, cars, consumer iteams and other iteams in weird juxtaposition.

What equipment do you think you will need? (list)

The key features and constitutes of a Pop art image are the: Recognizable Imagery, Bright colors, Flat Imagery and Celebrity Images. There are diffrent types of pop art there is product advertising, and other things.
They are created using paintingsand real images.

They could be used in advertising like posters, billboard,TV, Magazines and general art for interior design.

Anything can use Pop art in there advertsing if used correctly For example campbell uses it and Lucazade is using it at the moment in some of their advertiments.

The equipment I will need is a Camera, Tripod, Seamless background, red head lambs, softbox light.
With the lighting I will use the lights at diffrent angles to get rid of shadows and get diffrent light angles.

Seamless background
A background which is blank and has no distinct features so when you take a picture you will mostly focus on the object.

With ISO it will depend on what the lighting will be like. the better the light the lower the ISO, but if the lighting is bad like in a poorly lit classroom the ISO will have to be high.
